Saarland
Although Saarland only covers an area of almost 2,600 sq. km., and is therefore the smallest state in the Federal Republic, it nevertheless lives up to the German expression, "Small but impressive!" No matter how small
Saarland may be, its structure and history are extremely varied. In the last 200 years alone, Saarland has changed its nationality eight times. But the signs of its variable history go back much further than this time.
