Congress-Centrum Saar GmbH is committed to making its website www.ccsaar.de accessible in accordance with the German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (BGG), the German Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), and the Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Accessibility as a Strategic Goal

Accessibility is an integral part of our digital strategy. We are pursuing a step-by-step approach to expand and sustainably ensure accessibility – with a special focus on sections aimed at end users (B2C).
We follow these key principles:

  • Accessibility is part of our editorial quality guidelines.
  • We pursue clear objectives to improve digital accessibility.
  • Responsibilities for accessibility are clearly defined.
  • Technical tools and automated testing procedures are regularly used.
  • Feedback and suggestions are carefully reviewed and integrated into the further development of the website.

Testing Methods and Standards

The accessibility of our website www.ccsaar.de has been tested using the following tools and methods:

  • Editoria11y Accessibility Checker
  • accessiBe
  • axe DevTools
  • Google Lighthouse
  • Accessibility Insights
  • validator.w3.org
  • Manual tests with VoiceOver, zoom function, keyboard navigation, etc.

Our goal is to comply with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

Remaining Accessibility Limitations

Despite our extensive efforts to ensure full accessibility, some parts of the website may still present barriers:

  • B2B section pages (e.g. room information) may still contain structural or content-related limitations.
  • Keyboard navigation: Most areas of the website are accessible via keyboard. However, third-party integrations (e.g. Google Maps) may not offer full keyboard control or clearly visible focus states. These are outside of our direct control.
  • Link texts: We aim for clear and descriptive links. In some cases – such as autogenerated or very short links – clarity may be limited. We are continuously reviewing and optimizing them.
  • 3D room views: These visualizations may not be fully accessible (e.g. lack of alternative text or inaccessible navigation elements).
  • Video content: Embedded videos (typically from YouTube or Vimeo) provide captioning and transcript options via their respective players. For content where these are missing, we are working to improve accessibility.
  • Plain language & sign language: Content in easy-to-read language or German Sign Language is currently not provided, as this is not mandatory under WCAG 2.1 Level AA. However, we strive to ensure our texts are as clear and understandable as possible.
